CairoScene Spotlights Egyptian Charities With #SceneKheir

Throughout Ramadan we decided to leverage the power of CairoScene and its vast reader-base to spotlight a number of unique Egyptian charities giving back to the community in imaginative ways. As part of the #SceneKheir campaign, CairoScene's senior feature writer Valantina Primo met with  Health and Hope Oasis' - A remote farm helping underprivileged children with cancer overcome their biggest obstacle: lack of hygienic habits, joined Nouran Salah on a bike ride through Ard El Lewa to distribute meal boxes to the underprivileged as part of her 'Bel Bicycle' initiative.
We delved into the ground-breaking model of Alashanek Ya Baladi, the NGO empowering the poor to help themselves through self-sustainable communities, spoke to Muslim crowdfunding site LaunchGood  and did a run down of the most trustworthy orphanages to donate or volunteer this Ramadan.

With so much of our days taken up trying to perfectly service the client while delivering imaginative native advertising content on the website, this was a wonderful opportunity to try and use Scene's power to raise awareness and give back a bit. Let's hope we keep up the "good" work!
